We know how to transport snow in the mountain and cross-country tracks
Environmentally friendly and efficient snow transport, without major impact on nature or the use of heavy machinery.
A new and innovative system for transporting snow through pipes. The prototype was completed in autumn 2018 and was used, among other applications, to deliver snow to the Lysgårdsbakkene ski jumping arena for the World Cup 2018 and the National Championships 2020. We are now finalizing a closed, CE-certified machine that can be easily transported on a hook-lift container system.
The Snow Pipe system transports snow that is fed into the machine via a conveyor belt and into a crusher. The crusher breaks snow and ice into fine-grained snow, which is then funneled into the transport pipe through a feeder. Inside the pipe, the snow is carried to the desired location in the trails or slopes.
A blower generates the correct air pressure and volume to move the snow through the pipe.
The machine, piping, and blower can be scaled as needed and are capable of transporting snow up to 1.5 kilometers from the starting point, depending on the terrain.
A CE-certified machine is expected to be completed and ready for delivery before the winter of 2022.
Snow Pipe equipment can be transported up the mountain using a groomer.
Enables the use of natural snow from higher elevations to supply snow-poor lower areas.
Can replace snowmaking in certain situations.
Uses PE pipes with PN 6 pressure rating.
Equipment / pipe weight:
2,000–3,000 kg
Power requirement:
From approx. 30 kW
Distance:
1,500 m
Snow Pipe can be delivered as either a fixed or mobile installation.
Enables efficient transport of stored or manufactured snow into the terrain.
Can replace costly transport operations and reduce environmental impact.
Replaces traditional snow distribution systems in the trails, which normally require extensive networks of power, water, and air lines.
Equipment / pipe weight:
2,000–3,000 kg
Power requirement:
From approx. 30 kW
Distance:
1,000 m
